Samsung ice maker repair in Kansas City
Samsung's French-door design puts the ice maker inside the fresh food compartment, in an insulated ice room fed by a duct from the freezer evaporator. The cold is borrowed rather than local, so every seal around that room is load-bearing.
What goes wrong with Samsung ice makers
- Ice room frosting and a bucket that will not come out
- Humid compartment air leaks past the ice room gasket and the chute flap, then freezes onto the auger and the bucket rails. The owner finds the bucket locked in place and hears the auger grind at the dispenser paddle. Thawing it and replacing the seal and chute flap is what breaks the cycle.
- Cubes fused into a slab in the tray
- Frost on the tray and its thermistor makes the control harvest late, so cubes bond in the mold and the ejector stalls against them. You hear a stuttering click every few hours. Replacing the ice maker assembly with its tray sensor is the durable fix.
- Fill cup icing over
- A valve that seeps after the fill closes drips into the cup and builds a cone of ice that deflects the next fill over the side. Production drops off while the maker keeps cycling. We replace the inlet valve and check pressure at the shutoff behind the refrigerator.
Before you call
