Samsung dryers hang the drum on a felt seal at the front bulkhead and support rollers at the rear, and gather the heater, thermostats and thermal fuse into one box bolted to the back panel. The moisture sensor is a pair of metal strips just inside the door opening, right where fabric softener lands.
What goes wrong with Samsung dryers
- Cycles ending early with wet clothes
- The two sensor bars at the door opening glaze over with softener and dryer sheet residue, so the control reads the load as dry within minutes. Cleaning the bars with rubbing alcohol usually fixes it outright.
- Tumbles without heat
- The coil in the rear heater box opens, or a thermostat and the thermal fuse bolted to that box trip because the exhaust is restricted. Replacing only the fuse guarantees a second visit, so we clear the duct run and check exhaust temperature.
- Squeal and rumble that build over months
- The idler pulley bearing dries out and screams, the rear rollers flat-spot into a thumping rumble, and the front felt seal wears until the drum edge rubs the bulkhead and gray-streaks clothes. All three come out in one teardown.
- bE button error
- The dryer beeps on its own or ignores every press because a key on the membrane keypad is stuck closed, usually after a spill. Keypad and control panel come as one assembly.
Before you call
Vacuum the lint filter housing itself and not just the screen, because Samsung's filter drops into a duct that traps lint below the screen where nobody looks.
