LG dryer repair in Kansas City
LG's vented dryers carry a duct sensor the brand calls Flow Sense, which measures exhaust restriction during the cycle and puts d80, d90 or d95 on the display as the duct clogs. What goes wrong with LG dryers
- d80, d90 or d95 on the display
- These are not nuisance codes; they read out how blocked the exhaust path has become. The cause is almost always a crushed foil transition hose behind the machine, a packed duct run, or a wall cap whose flapper no longer opens. Clothes take two cycles and the heater thermostats cut out early.
- Tumbles with no heat
- The electric heater is a coil in a housing at the back with two thermostats and a thermal fuse bolted to it. A restricted vent opens the fuse; a tired coil opens on its own. We meter the coil and each thermostat instead of replacing the whole assembly.
- Heat pump model drying slowly
- These have a secondary filter and a condenser coil behind a base panel that the manual asks you to rinse, and most owners never have. Once that coil blinds over with lint the loop cannot reject heat and cycles stretch out.
Before you call
Treat a d80 or higher as a work order for the vent rather than a display quirk. Replace a crushed transition hose with rigid or semi-rigid duct, and the code and the long dry times usually go together.
