LG washing machine repair in Kansas City
LG bolts the rotor directly to the basket shaft, with no belt, pulley or transmission between motor and tub. A hall sensor on the stator tells the board exactly where the rotor sits, which is how these machines do their slow rocking and their balance checks. That sensor is wired into every motion the washer makes.
What goes wrong with LG washing machines
- LE locked motor error
- The washer fills, the drum barely twitches, and LE comes up. The board tried to turn the rotor and got no position feedback, which usually traces to the hall sensor or its connector rather than a dead motor. We also check rotor bolt torque and spin the basket by hand for a seized bearing.
- OE drain error
- Water stands in the drum about ten minutes into the cycle. On front-loaders the coin trap behind the small lower panel is the first stop; on top-loaders the drain hose is often kinked behind the machine or shoved too far down the standpipe.
- UE imbalance error
- The machine redistributes over and over and finally quits. On front-loaders tired dampers and springs let the drum travel farther than the control accepts. On direct-drive top-loaders the balance ring around the basket rim does that job, and a cracked ring will not correct any load.
Before you call
On any OE, pull the little lower access panel, set down a shallow pan and a towel, and open the coin trap before booking a call. Plenty clear with a handful of lint out of that filter.
