Miele dishwasher repair in Kansas City

Two systems set a Miele dishwasher apart from anything else under a countertop. The Waterproof System pairs a float in the base pan with a valve at the tap end of the inlet hose, shutting water off at the wall rather than at the machine. Many models also carry a built-in softener fed by a salt reservoir.

What goes wrong with Miele dishwashers

Won't fill, pump keeps running
The program starts, you hear draining, no water arrives. That is the waterproof system latched after finding moisture in the base pan. The pan must be dried and the source found, often a weeping door seal or an overfilled salt reservoir.
Cloudy film on glassware
Glasses come out hazy and the haze doesn't wipe off. On a softener-equipped machine the salt reservoir has run empty, or the hardness was never programmed to match the incoming water. Correcting both clears it within a few cycles.
Standing water over the filter
The cycle ends with an inch of water in the sump. The drain pump impeller jams on a shard or seed, or the non-return flap sticks and lets water back in. The filter cylinder lifts out to reach it.
Long cycles washing cold
The program stretches past its usual time and dishes come out greasy. The flow-through heater, or the circulation pump it is built into, has degraded so the machine waits for a temperature it can't reach.

Before you call

Use only coarse dishwasher salt, never table salt, and fill until the salt light goes out. Water here is hard enough that an unfilled softener ruins glassware long before anything breaks.
