Thermador range repair in Kansas City
A Thermador pro range is their rangetop bolted to an oven, in a standard-depth version that fits a normal 36-inch run and a larger one with an accessory module and a second cavity. On dual-fuel versions the oven side is all electric with its own relay board, so the burners and the oven are two machines sharing a badge.
What goes wrong with Thermador ranges
- Burners sputtering days after a boil-over
- One or two run rough and the rest are fine. The heavy continuous grates invite sliding pans across the whole top, so spills travel and work down around the burner bases. Grate sections lift off as units, the bases come up, and everything underneath gets cleaned and dried.
- Dual-fuel oven not heating with a live display
- The panel accepts a bake setting and counts up while nothing gets warm. The relay board that switches the elements is a separate part from the touch control that looks alive, so a bright display proves little. Checking for switched voltage at the element terminals separates them.
- Delayed ignition on the gas oven
- A pause, then a muffled thump when it lights, and preheat takes far longer than it used to. The igniter has weakened to where the safety valve opens late and gas pools in the burner tube. It is replaced as a matched assembly with the tube ports inspected.
Before you call
Treat the cooktop and the oven as two independent appliances, because a dead oven says nothing about the burners and rarely means the range is finished. Lift the grates and dry the burner bases after any real spill.
