Frigidaire refrigerator repair in Kansas City

Frigidaire side-by-sides and Gallery French-doors put the water filter head inside the fresh-food compartment rather than in the base grille, and they report faults as two-character codes on the dispenser display. Both details change how these get diagnosed.

What goes wrong with Frigidaire refrigerators

Water running down the inside wall
The filter head is moulded into the ceiling or upper corner of the fresh-food section. When the housing cracks or the cartridge is not seated fully, it weeps down the liner and pools under the drawers. The head is replaced with the cartridge.
Evaporator fan code on the display
A fan fault code with both compartments warming means the freezer fan is stalled, drawing no current, or fighting a frosted coil. We pull the rear freezer panel to see whether the fan itself failed or ice from a defrost fault has seized the blade.
Pooling water under the crispers
Behind that rear panel a trough collects defrost water and sends it down a tube to the drain pan over the compressor. Once the tube freezes, water spills forward into the fresh-food floor and refreezes as a sheet.
Ice maker in the freezer drawer jamming
On the bottom-mount Gallery models the bucket and auger sit in the drawer, and cubes that partly melt and refuse fuse into a block that stalls the auger motor. You hear the motor strain and nothing comes out.

Before you call

Change the cartridge on schedule and push it home until the tab clicks. A half-seated filter is the most common source of water we find inside a Frigidaire fresh-food compartment.

Pricing

$225 to $375 for fan, defrost and control work; $450 to $900 for compressor or sealed-system repairs. The $109 diagnostic is credited to the repair when you approve the written quote.
